Law Ruler Backup Process & Disaster Recovery Procedures

Law Ruler is designed and architected with multiple redundancies in mind to maximize uptime and prevent data loss. Law Ruler is hosted on Azure following their best practices utilizing regions to decentralize the location of stored data. Law Ruler utilizes daily backups which can be restored using standard Azure protocol.

Restoration Process

Law Ruler has a runbook in place which the team is trained on and is used in regularly scheduled tabletop exercises.

In the event of a catastrophic event to an application or database server, an agent of Law Ruler would execute the runbook to:

  1. Locate the system backups which are stored in a geographically redundant manner on
  2. Initiate the system restoration process for the specified server based on Azure
  3. Make any final configuration required for the requisite
