The team behind Law Ruler is most recently famous for inventing the Oil Claim Calculator™ claims management software that was used to manage
OVER 3 Billion Dollars in BP Oil Spill losses for several hundred, top-tier law and accounting firms nationally and was featured on ABC TV News, the London Times, and in various newspapers as a top story.
In 2013, one of our law firm clients had a light bulb idea and proposed that we build something special that had not existed before. On that same day in 2013, Law Ruler legal case intake software was born.
We found that most legal case management software technology was not modern and was completely disconnected from Law Firm Marketing and Intake. Strangely enough, these legal case mgmt apps had screens that had the label “Intake” on them but they were nothing more than a simple data entry sheet to input the intake’s name and other details. They lacked automation for tasks, SMS texts, emails, staff notifications, etc that is a MUST in this day and age. Law Ruler legal case intake software is a turnkey solution that focuses on CONVERTING a law firm’s leads and referrals into signed clients.
Company Leadership Team
Daniel S. Jacobs
Managing Partner & Founder
Dan Jacobs is the Founder and Managing Partner of Law Ruler Software, LLC. He brings more than 20 years of experience in developing world-class software and IT organizations. His track record is that of a serial entrepreneur and he has created several multi-million dollar companies from scratch.
Jacobs joins Law Ruler Software from IT Strategies Group, (ITSG), a company that he co-founded where he was responsible for overseeing all software development and business operations. In 2012, he co-created and built ITSG, from a startup into a highly-profitable multi-million dollar entity focused on niche software and solution development within the legal, insurance, and oil & gas markets. Jacobs co-created the “Oil Claim Calculator Software,” that was featured on ABC News TV as a top story. This ground-breaking invention for plaintiff law firms became the #1 software solution for the largest legal matter in the history of the United States, the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, and has been used on over 3 Billion Dollars in BP claims.
While at ITSG, a client approached Jacobs with the idea for a new kind of law office practice and marketing management software that didn’t exist on the market for plaintiff firms. This plaintiff law software was completed and is now known as “Law Ruler” and was spinned off into its own marketing entity in 2015 and is now available for all law firms.
Prior to ITSG, from 2002 until late 2011, Jacobs founded and built Florida Micro from a garage-based 1-man startup into a public company with over $36 million dollars in annual revenue that was ranked in the top 3% of IT companies in North America within its category.
Jacobs first began developing software and technology solutions while in elementary school from a young age. Additionally, he was invited to attend Johns Hopkins University in their gifted student program at the age of 12. He received a Bachelors Degree in 1997 from Clark University, a small, highly specialized institution outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
